Every year the Spanish is more important in the world.

Sucre, more than a perfect place for study.

About Sucre

Sucre is small (pop. 250.000) and thus easy to explore on foot.

This charming colonial city and its nearby villages feature a sizable indigenous population who maintain their customs and colourful dress.

Locals and visitors alike are attracted to the markets where food, textiles and other products are sold in barter fashion. Sucre is one of the most secure and most cultivated cities of Bolivia and invites with his numerous places and parks to relax. In 1991 the historic city of Sucre became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In addition, Sucre is a perfect starting point for tours through Bolivia. Thus the city of Potosí, which was once one of the most important silver mines centres of the world, lies in only two hours drive from Sucre. In times of the Spanish crown, Potosí had a higher number of inhabitants than London or Paris and accommodated many of the richest people of Latin America and Europe.
